Build A PC
Our extremely popular Build A PC Camp curriculum has now been updated. Now campers can choose to build a gaming PC or a media center. This camp is a must for someone who loves electronics or is curious about computers. In this class campers will build a personal computer or media center from parts. The goal of this class is to learn about PCs by putting one together. Campers will learn about the personal computer's components, the CPU, mother board, memory chip, hard disk, video card and all the other parts. Students will prepare the visually appealing case and motherboard as well as install the CPU, Ram, motherboard, drives, and adaptor card inside the case. At the end of the camp students will hook up the cables and peripherals and test the computer of their own making.

Robotics I
Our signature Robotics I Camp course has been rewritten for the next generation of robotics. Campers will be using the NXT Robotics system to design, build and program their robot from scratch. While building robots, kids not only accumulate skills in engineering, computer science, and physics, they also learn valuable leadership and project management skills.
Children participating in our Robotics workshops are guided through a hands-on experience, where they learn to build robots using the NXT Robotics System. NXT Robotics is a new generation Robotics invention system featuring a 32-bit microprocessor that combines state-of-the-art ultrasonic, sound, light and touch sensors in the next generation of intuitive robotics.
Kids are also introduced to Lego Pneumatics and will learn to use Lego Pneumatics for building attachment to their robots. Campers will explore Robotics arm and learn to program it using a PC interface.
Students will work in teams throughout the course. Teams will compete in a friendly Robotics challenges on Friday. Family and Friend are invited to watch and cheer their teams. No prior experience in programming is necessary. At the end of the camp kids take home all the pictures and tournament video on a cd.

Robotics II
Our Robotics II camp builds on the skills learned from our signature Robotics I camp. Campers will learn more advanced programming skills to enable their robots to perform multiple tasks in one run. They will also learn to construct manipulators with a third motor or robotic arm to enable the robot to interact with its surrounding. In Robotics II campers will be using more sensors to make their robot see and feel its environment. This is a great way to learn about computer automation and animatronics. After the campers have mastered the NXT Robotics System they will move on to VEX Robotics. VEX was designed to fill the gap between entry level robotics and high level robotics as you will see in some FIRST Robotics tournaments. The VEX Robotics System is an erector-style robotic kit. The VEX Robot Systems are distributed by Radio Shack, and are sturdier, more maneuverable and more sophisticated than their Lego counterparts. The kit includes a pro level radio controller, programmable controller and over 500 parts for assembling an autonomous robot. The VEX Robotic System is sure to please every robotics enthusiast. Campers will learn to build, program VEX robots using easy C programming. They will learn to add touch, ultra sonic, rotation and light sensor. Students will work in teams throughout the course and participate in friendly challenges through out the camp. It is recommended that younger campers finish Robotics I before joining this camp.

Build A Roomba Sentry
The Roomba is widely known for its autonomous vacuuming capabilities, but in this camp, students will transform it to do much more! Kids will explore and utilize the SCI interface; by attaching a blue tooth interface to the Roomba, students will achieve control over their robot from any location connected to the internet. More importantly, students will give the Roomba vision by mounting a streaming wireless web camera on top. This will allow the robot to become your home security sentry by allowing you to view your home at all times via the internet. Students will program the web camera to communicate with any computer on the internet using the 802.11 wireless network*.
*There may be minor additional costs if the students' home does not have a wireless network or their home computer is not blue tooth enabled. Please call for details.

Digital Film Making
Digital Film Making is a realm of infinite possibilities where anyone's imagination can run rampant. While in this camp, students will work as a film "crew" to write, produce, film, direct, edit and finalize a short film. Students will gain more than just the know-how of film making, they will also gain the aesthetic perception needed make a film of any genre, be it a horror, drama, comedy, or documentary. Digital Film Campers will film using a top-of-the-line Sony Digital Camera, add effects using Adobe After Effects © and edit their project using Apple Final Cut Pro© -all on Apple Laptops. Students are encouraged to bring their own digital camera. All film makers will take home their creation on a cd and everyone is invited to a class film festival on Friday afternoon.

Pod Casting
Podcasting is a concatenate of the words ipod and broadcasting. It is a way of distributing multimedia files over the internet for playbacks on mobile devices like ipod and personal computers. Podcasting can be used in many ways like distributing music, news brief, sports commentary, narrated self-tours of vacation sites, youth radio, academic journals, live music, talk shows and how to videos. In the Podcasting camp campers will learn about different types of podcast and will create their very own podcast for the RSS feed along with a way to subscribe to the show and have it automatically delivered to their iPod when someone plug in to iTunes. They will learn to record, edit, mix and upload their file for podcasting.

Publishing
This class is designed to make your child the editor in chief of their very own magazine, newspaper or digest. Students will edit their images for use via Photoshop by cropping and adjusting the photographs as well as adding special filters and layer. Using Adobe Indesign the design software for professionals, students bring in their images from Photoshop and begin creating the main layout of their masterpiece. Students may choose the theme of their choice and the possibilities are endless, whether their interests are in fashion, traveling, sports, music, entertainment, or cooking -each student can create their own professional publication. In this class, kids will not only choose their own theme, they will write their own articles, design their own advertisements, use their own images and finalize their own layout style. At the end of the Publishing camp each participant will take home several copies of their independently created professional magazine or newspaper and have friends and family request subscriptions.
