Podcasting
Podcasting is a concatenate of the words Ipod* and broadcasting. It is a way of distributing multimedia files over the internet for playback on any electronic device capable of reading sound files; such as a PC, a laptop, or a portable media player. Podcasting can be used for distributing any type of audio imaginable, including music, news briefings, sports commentary, tours, talk shows, academic journals, and how-to instructions. In the Podcasting class, students will learn about the different types of podcasts and create their very own podcast using professional mixers, microphones, computers, and high grade software. At the end of the class, they will learn about RSS feeds, and will create a subscription for their show that will allow anybody in the world to download their shows by logging into iTunes, or any other podcatching software.
*No Ipod or media player is necessary for this class
