How We Teach
We pride ourself for our exceptional quality programs, and this camp is no exception. We have taught Video Game Design for several years, and have learned to work successfully with children in order to help them build a quality game. We teach the children from amongst them, rather than standing at the front of the classroom and giving a lecture. Our teacher/student ratio is 1/7. The small class size allows students maximum individualized learning opportunity. Unlike other camps our class ratio is based on student/teacher ratio not on staff ratio.
In this class, we teach our students not only to build a technically superior game, but to build a game complete with a storyline, a plot, and excellent visuals and sounds. We let our students design their own games, where they can make an adventure game, a board game, a shooter, or any other game they desire. All student work individually on their game and on their own laptops. At the end of the class, the students will share their games with family and friends in an event where they can show off their games on a projector in front of the class. Students will also take their game home on a CD, and will receive instructions on how to download the demo version of the software so they can continue working on their game when they get home.
