Build a PC

Our extremely popular Build A PC Camp curriculum has now been updated. Now campers can choose to build a gaming PC or a media center. This camp is a must for someone who loves electronics or is curious about computers. In this class campers will build a personal computer or media center from parts. The goal of this class is to learn about PCs by putting one together. Campers will learn about the personal computer's components, the CPU, mother board, memory chip, hard disk, video card and all the other parts. Students will prepare the visually appealing case and motherboard as well as install the CPU, Ram, motherboard, drives, and adaptor card inside the case. At the end of the camp students will hook up the cables and peripherals and test the computer of their own making. Below are the following specs for each type of computer. Bear in mind that these are only reference prices, and students can change components as they see fit to either increase the power or reduce the price of the computer. These changes will be reflected in the overall price, and will not not deviate significantly from market price for those components.
