3D Video Game Design

If you ever wanted to create a game that rivals commercial games but didn't know where to start, then this camp is for you. Students will be using the 3D Game Studio© to develop their game, complete with characters, levels, objects, and sprites. This is the camp to transform your gaming idea into an actual 3D game complete with 3D landscape and models. 3D Game Studio is a development tool with great features such as an in-built 3D engine, level, model and terrain editors. The C Script Programming language allows you to add advanced features like player behavior, special effects, artificial intelligence, breakable glass, and more.

* Age requirement is recommendation only. If you feel your child is ready for this camp please call us to discuss.

Who should take this course?

This camp is great for someone who loves video games and has always wondered if they can someday make a game of their own. It is great mid-level program that takes kids further down the world of game creation. Students should be familiar with the basics of computers, such as opening and copying files, and so on.

How We Teach

We have successfully taught Video Game Design for several years, and have learned to work successfully with children in order to help them build a quality game. We teach the children from amongst them, rather than standing at the front of the classroom and giving a lecture.

In this class, we teach our students not only to build a technically superior game, but to build a game complete with a storyline, a plot, and excellent visuals and sounds. We let our students make their own games, where they can make an adventure game, a board game, a shooter, or any other game they desire. At the end of the class, the students will share their games with family and friends in an event where they can show off their games on a projector in front of the class. Students will also take their game home on a CD, and will receive instructions on how to download the demo version of the software so they can continue working on their game when they get home.lineline
